Debug Bitdefender to Avoid Windows 8 Crash

Like many other system security solutions, Bitdefender is always running in the background of your operating system. However, it is not visible on your Desktop screen, and therefore, is not an active application.

The foremost solution which is always encouraged is checking your PC primary healthiness and restoring any discrepancy that perhaps is bringing about the disturbance:

  • Step 1 : Download Systimizer – PC Cleaner Tool (Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7 & XP)
  • Step 2 : Click “Scan” to find Windows issues
  • Step 3 : Click “Fix” to eliminate all troubles

Windows 8 has the property to create the paging file on your hard drive, the purpose of which is to hold the temporary data of open but unused applications. You might have observed a slight glitch, in accessing the application, minimized for quite a while. The logic behind this delay revolves around the concept of Paging. When a running application is minimized for a specific time, it is considered idle by the system. Subsequently, the system moves some of the memory committed to this application, to the page file, created on hard drive. As a result of which, restoring the application may take a litter longer, as it locates and accesses that specific page file to retrieve its part of memory.

Similar is the case with an Antivirus, as it is an application running constantly, but opened occasionally. The need of this antivirus to be active, at a time when the system is running short of memory, is an unfortunate situation. There are greater chances for this application to be unable in locating the correct page file at the right destination. Consequently, the application goes dissident, conflicting with the RAM, and causing the system to crash (usually BSoD). The stop error message displayed at this instance is PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA.

Generally, a reboot would be able to resolve this issue. But if in case, you are frequently encountering the problems regarding this, you need to take some remedial actions. It is recommended to carry out the following processes.

Reboot your PC to the Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE), by click the restart option in Windows 8 and holding the Shift key

  • In the first view of Recovery mode, click on the button See advanced repair options
  • In the Choose an option screen, select the Troubleshoot
